Abduselam Hamid. I am from Ethiopia. I am 27 years old. I received Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Mekelle institute of technology, on 2014. After graduation, I have continued my job as an assistant lecture at Debreberhan University, Ethiopia for three years. On Sep 2017 I joined Erasmus Mundus joint Master’s degree program on Sustainable Transportation and Electrical Power Systems (EMMJ STEPS).The program is jointly hosted by University of Nottingham (UK), University of Oviedo (Spain), Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) and Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal). As a part of my Master’s thesis and internship, I spent 6 months at Zigor Corporation (a company working on power electronics solutions in Spain). At Zigor, i designed and developed 20 kw Bidirectional DC-DC converter using Silicon carbide technology.
Research in the Etopia project:
In this program I am working on the coexistence of power and communication systems in the presence of smart systems and power electronics devices. The research project mainly focuses on predicting the EMI interference between power and data lines, and finding advanced modulation techniques in order to minimize the effect of EMI imposed on data lines due to the presence massive power electronics converters on power system networks.
